Off The Job Hours
What is it?
Off the job training is learning which takes place outside of the normal day to day duties which supports achieving the apprenticeship.
A minimum of 6 hours is required to be completed during paid, contracted, working hours.
What counts as off the job training?
- Lectures at college
- Tutorials at work
- Writing assignments
- Working on your portfolio/NPL
- Being mentored
- Shadowing a colleague at work
- Online learning
- CPD
- Webinars
- Lunch & learns
- Additional learning support
- Visiting other practices
What isn't classed as off the job hours?
- Learner reviews
- Progress reviews
- Training that doesn't contribute towards the apprenticeship
